This workshop will see children complete a guided hands-on investigation, expanding their knowledge of processed materials. Kids will mix various chemicals to produce a number of amazing polymer worms! Most suited for children aged 5-12 years.
Bookings are needed for the library events – contact the libraries directly.
In this drop-in workshop, junior scientists will be bouncing with enthusiasm as they explore the states of change in the physical properties of everyday materials. Using Polyvinyl acetate powder (PVA), it’s a hands-on experience of science as they create brightly coloured bouncy balls.

Create your very own winter wonderland by making some fluffy instant snow, and watch the science come to life! Then it’s time to make space in your holiday plans for mixing up some galaxy slime!
We’ll be running drop-in workshops throughout the Gympie region so there’s no need to book ahead. However, with strictly limited numbers of participants permitted for each session, make sure you arrive nice and early so you don’t miss out!
We’ll see you there for some seriously fun science!

Join the Street Science team as junior scientists get to mix chemicals (safe ones) together and watch the amazing change from liquid to ooey-gooey bubble slime right before their eyes. Junior scientists will also get to make instant snow and watch this amazing polymer expand 100 times its original size to create piles of soft, fluffy fun. Ideal for children aged six years and older.
